Our mission at LRH is to help people improve quality of daily life. LRH, part of the London Hypermobility Network Centre & Networks of excellence, is committed to an MDT approach, evidence-based clinical practice, research, education, community advocacy & charity collaborations.
LRH was founded in 2018 by Lorna Ryan, Registered Nutritionist/Nutritional Therapy & Lifestyle Medicine Practitioner specialising in HSD & EDS.
Lorna is an internationally recognised specialist in Clinical Nutrition, Nutritional Therapy & Lifestyle Medicine for symptomatic Hypermobility and the Ehlers-Danlos Syndromes. Her extensive HSD/EDS training, knowledge & clinical experience positions her as an established expert clinician, researcher, educator and speaker.
Lorna works within a global specialist multi-disciplinary team in delivering expertise & care delivery to the HSD/EDS community. She is a member of the London Hypermobility Network of Excellence and member of The International Consortium on EDS & HSD's where she Chairs the Diet & Nutrition Working Group & sits on the Pain & Fatigue working group. Lorna developed the first international clinicians education programme on Nutrition for HSD & EDS as clinical lead & facilitator to EDS ECHO Nutrition with the Ehlers-Danlos Society's Project ECHO. Lorna presents for global non-profit charities on diet for HSD & EDS, educating patients & clinicians.
Lorna's interest to specialise in EDS is informed by her own patient experiences having navigated complex health challenges of hEDS & CMT. Her experiences bring empathy as a patient, deep awareness as a clinician and a drive to enable others to live well.
In addition to academic clinical Nutrition & Lifestyle Medicine study, Lorna holds a Masters degree in Design Research for Disability, with over 15 years experience in the field, bringing unique knowledge & skills working in the space of wellbeing.
Lorna has also travelled the world studying meditation practices, cultural diets and health principles. Experiences & insights that shape her work and interest in wider holistic health approaches.
